| People really need to stop looking at Kris`s win as some kind of cultural victory for the Christian conservative Right in America. While both are talented, personable young men, Adam peaked too early while Kris became stronger as the contest went on and showed a great deal of versatility at adapting to different genres as well as a talent for arrangement. Adam`s tendancy to shriek and scream when a song did not warrant it did not do him any favors and neither did the show`s heavy handed favoritism on his behalf. In the end, a greater number of voters simply preferred Kris`s style over Adam`s. There are many bi- and homosexual performers that are very successful in America; it is not as if Adam was trying to break any new ground. |
