| What a load of tripe! If there is an existential threat to the west, it comes from its unwillingness to own up to its past misdeeds. These are too numerous to mention here. What Canada and Israel have in common though is that they are settler states founded on the ethnic cleansing of the indigenous peoples. Canada must atone for its past misdeeds, and Israel must stop. The threat to those who do not own up to their crimes against humanity is that they are likely to repeat their crimes again, and again. Eventually, they will fall from power, and history will vilify them and their descendants; and rightly so. What we are witnessing from this racist politician’s comments is that Canada is putting Muslims into its rifle sights, rather than native North Americans. Islamophobia, the new form of anti-Semitism, is a way of dehumanizing an opponent, so he can be eliminated with a clear conscience. Mr. Kenney, like Israel, is therefore a threat to humanity. The preamble to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights makes it clear that all men will fight back when oppressed. Very simply, the reaction of Muslims is a reaction to the assault on their way of life, their culture, their evolution as societies, and their lives, by the West for decades, if not several centuries. Mr. Kenney is a racist, as are those who support him, as are those who support Israel’s Occupation of the West Bank. I condemn him. I condemn them. |
