Agreed. Israel should not be told to stop building settlements. It should be told to tear down the ones that already exist. Israel began the settlements to change the facts on the ground. That is, to alter the reality in its favor, like gobbling down a whole cake so you wont have to share any of it. Aside from being illegal it is also unseemly and has caused the whole world to view Israel in a new light.
Incidentally, Israel gave up Gaza, not as a peace offering to the Gazans, but because it couldn`t handle it and wanted to concentrate its efforts on annexing the West Bank. |
