| To the Editor, May 24, 2009 The New York Review of Books. 435 HUDSON STR, 3rd floor New York, NY. 10014-3994 Re: AN HONOR FOR TONY JUDT May 28, 2009 I am at a loss to thoroughly understand why Tony Judt has acquired his anti Jewish views expressed whenever he writes about Israel. Perhaps it is because he originates from London where, in addition to anti Jewish bias during WW2, recently an extensive volume of such skewed views have originated. Political disagreements between the Jews and Palestinians have been a common team ever since England has unleashed the Muslim majority under British control in Palestine following WW2. Its objective then was to deprive the Jews of the world of a homeland through local “native” Arab opposition. The plan did not succeed then and can not now because the former Palestinians lack the cultural will to be self-sufficient. Jews have no other choice but to leave its neighbors alone. Mr. Judt’s views about Jews and Israel lack the perspective, understanding and grounding in our near destruction up through recent times and why we can not allow anyone into our home, the State of Israel, until we are absolutely certain that they will not murder us while we live in peace and harmony with the Western World’s residents and our Mid. East neighbors. I have to cite the example set by Eichman, the SS murderer, in 1944 when he rounded me and my family up in Hungary, telling us only that we will be taken to work in Germany. By the time I realized that he lied to us the door to our cattle car was shut. I with my mother, father and my brother arrived into a barbed wire enclosed hell where the ranks of the new arrivals were systematically trimmed with stealth while the three of us, not including my sweet mother who was murdered upon her arrival, we were smelling the odor of burning corpses. Mr. Judt should stick to his literary subjects and keep quiet from damaging the lives of WW2 survivors and their descendants with his uninformed, deceptive comments that cause us great harm. I regret having to be so blunt, but Mr. Judt has been at his destructive game for some time now and creating more problems. Please do not renew my subscription to your journal. Paul N.
