Israel seems oblivious to the fact that there is no reason for us to support Israel other than e the sympathy earned after the holocaust. Israel is NOT democracy as we define democracy in this century, because Palestinians do NOT have equal rights in their own land. Most Americans don`t know this yet, but will eventually figure it out.
Most Americans don`t yet realize that Israel practices segregation and institutionalized discrimination, and that discrimination perpetuates the cycle of violence. If you don`t recognize people as your equals, you will continue to breed anger and rebellion.
Consider integrating your schools and neighborhoods; consider going through a similar process that the U.S. went through in the l950`s and 1960`s during the civil rights movement.
If you don`t start treating the Palestinians as equals, you will have never have a real democracy, you will never have peace, and the U.S. will have no reason to support you. |
