| I am an active member (and past Boardmember) of my synagogue, and lifelong strongly-identifying Jew, and I completely support a general boycott of Israel. Real love for a person, or a people, requires firm action when they fall into evil behavior; if some non-Jews had recognized this truth more frequently, or fulfilled those obligations more consistly, our own history would be much different. For a Jew to fail to take such action regarding Israel, given the current state of affairs, isn`t love, but hypocrisy and moral cowardice. Jewish inaction in the face of Jewish injustice is a betrayal of our G-d, our ancient heritage, and our very essence as a people. |
