| "sounds like a stalinist purge" - Cipora Juliana Kohn It sounds like an entire intelligence circuit has been penetrated and destroyed. A "Purge" as in `Stalinist Purge` is a political act intended to eliminate opponents within a party or organization. It is a political act. The various cells of the circuit being destroyed were within MANY organizations including Hisbollah and the Lebanese Army. They are being busted for performing intelligence for an enemy power. Until the Second Lebanon War there were Lebanese who believed their differences were more important than being Lebanese. Israel sought to punish ALL Lebanese for the acts of Hisbollah and by that idiocy forged a common appreciation that there was a greater enemy to ALL Lebanese than each other. And now there is no refuge for those who spy for that common enemy. The Second Lebanon War was a strategic catastrophe for Israel and a national gift to Lebanon. But you can`t comprehend that can you? |
