Nevertheless Wikipedia is a great tickler file, it usually at least has the high points, and almost always supporting information/cites/links at the bottom anchored to the material.
If you follow those citations and comprehend them and move on to their cites, now you`re starting to get a pretty well rounded picture of a given topic.
I do agree that it is not a source where you just read the story and you can consider yourself informed. I prefer the three layer deep approach or two peer-reviewed sources when considering health and medical topics.
When considering Israel, I`m of a mind about an article by Moshe Feiglin where it talked about how his Web site morphed and became less stridently fascist and rightwing. I read several of the versions from current and past to get a feel for the guy.
