| The Iranian form of democracy is even more fragmented and Byzantine than Israel`s. There seem to be more parties wavering over whether to back Mousavi or Ahmadinejad. The problem seems to be Ahmadinejad himself. Mohammad Khatami is going to be campaigning for Mousavi, One of the issues which seems important is the nation`s nuclear program. Several important parties, especially Majilis appear badly split over whether to support Ahmadinejad. Significantly even Ali Larijani seems reluctant to back the Big Mouth Ahmadinejad. It looks like this election will go to a runoff. That will be fun to watch. |
