| I am sorry to all the people who believe in conspiracy theories, but I think the answer is much more simple. Traffic and road blocks were so terrible in Jerusalem during the Papal visit that it was impossible to go anywhere. The closer one got to the Pope the less able you were to take a car or a bus. In the heat, walking was not always a choice. Traveling outside of East Jerusalem was even more difficult as the roads were not just closed to cars, but in many places completely blocked. Genuine efforts to protect the pope resulted in a low turnout. |
