The idea that Israel could attack Iran without America`s blessing has always been a fantasy.To make it back to Israel, you must fly over Iraq, and the US Air Force controls that airspace. So if Israel sent all its bombers over Iraq without telling the the USA, Our Air Force would probably escort them back to Israel and if they refused or didn`t answer possibly engage them.
Any Israeli that thinks that The US Military is going to stand by and let Israel violate its airspace and humiliate them without so much as a peep is sorely mistaken. Finally Israel has many friends in Congress but there is 1 thing that greatly outranks Israel in every US politician`s eyes: the US Military and supporting the troops. There is now way that any US politician, no matter how pro-Israel, is going to defend Israel at the expense of the US military for doing its job and controlling its airspace. This scenario would lead to total breakdown in US-Israeli relations that no Israeli leader would risk |
