I am a native English speaker and EFL teacher. I agree that native speakers should teach native speaking pupils in order to deal with the find nuances of the language. However, I work with and know many EFL teachers, for whom English is a 2nd or 3rd language, and they are excellent teachers. It`s not realistic in any country to have enough native speaking language teachers. Of course, they need to be well-qualified and speak, read and write English at an "almost" native speaker`s level.
