one thing bob, is that the zionist propaganda agenda will of course tout this find and blow it out of porportion as proof to support their claim of exclusive rights to jerusalem and the west bank. while for other`s like me, "proof" of jews being in jerusalem back then means nothing; because no one questions that they were...so the zionist claims are seen for exactly what they are; a means of limiting the recognition of palestinians "rights" as an the indigenous population. but for those of us who see through the facade, there`s a big problem with laying claim to a territory based on "historical" precedence. and that`s because history is a continuum; and it`s perpetual. which means ANY claim based on history, prior or subsequent to any other, is JUST as valid. but what`s more, when the flight of the jews took place under roman rule; there were those jews who left, and there were those who stayed. and why no archeological evidence of the "palestinians" from back then? because history IS a continuum! even ben gurion recognized that the palestinians could be none other than the descendants of those jews who had remained. |
