Very good article Zvi... Impressive. Just to add on your article, although Hezbollah has an alliance with many other parties (mainly the Syrian National Party, Amal and CPL) the party alone will never be able to govern lebanon.
However it is possible that hezbollah and its allies take over the majority. The good news is that there is an agreement between hezbolla and CPL (christian Michel Aoun) saying that the coalition will keep on as long as Hezbolla uses its weaponry for resistance purpose (if it is attacked) and also saying that the day Israel will withdraw from Chebaa and Ghajar, they will disarm. Hezbolla`s political influence is very small alone, they need their allies and their allies are definitely not pupets, it`s mostly alliances for strategic purposes to win more seats (similar to Yisrael Beitinu and the Labor party) but have nothing in common. I think the approach used by Michel Aoun is very effective and will lead to positive outcomes! |
