| ...that there must be more than a handful of people in Israel who have their eyes wide open. I hold no love for Hamas, or Hezbollah, or Ahmadinejad. However I know that they would not exist, could not exist, without the decades long illegal occupations of various lands by Israel. Real even-handedness out of Washington D. C. will cause an amazing ripple effect throughout the Arab Street and the wider world. Without it, and very soon, Israel will be doomed in a wider Middle East war and arms race. Sadly, the "settlers" will win because Israel has no real leaders able to take them on, or they will be assassinated in the process. Israel will lose because of a lack of will to admit what it has wrought was a terrible wrong. What leader will ever evacuate the West Bank of hundreds of thousands of illegal "settlers"? What leader will admit the abject failure and imminent danger of Israeli colonialism? |
