Since we all know that the rabbinical courts will not recognize non-orthodox conversions in Israel and the High Court of Israel is not authorized to declare non-orthodox converts as Jewish for all intensive purposes, I do not see the purpose in specifically funding non-orthodox projects (educational and other spiritual activities are a completely separate matter) and am in favor of changing the law to this effect. By applying Justice Beinisch`s ruling, there is no reason to only fund reform and conservative conversion efforts, but Yossi Beilin`s "Secular Conversion" initiative should equally not be discriminated.
