| No matter what many say, US Policy remains the same as GWB. One cannot expect a reverse, not in the first 120 days of the Obama Administration. Iran is a contentious point. Both Israel and Washington hope for a diplomatic breakthrough. A Palestinian State, cannot be achieved from the bottom up, only through tough decisions by the current standoff with Hamas. Lobbing missiles on the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv corridor, is what many fear. Outposts and roadblocks will be dismantled, to a certain extent. Economic and security reforms will be met, before a two state solution can even be penciled onto a contract. The US has many obligations, also one must not forget the current situation in Afghanistan where the Taliban resurgence and the killing of many Afghan civilians, has placed the US in a somewhat delicate position. Israel may be the USA·s best ally, yet Palestinian Statehood cannot be construed as the number one priority,not by far,except in the minds of the media or apologists for Hamas. |
