The article states that the first thing Israel needed to do was to stop settlement construction, but what was the first step the Palestinians were supposed to do?
The Roadmap requires that the Palestinians "immediately undertake an unconditional cessation of violence" and that Israel "freezes all settlement activity."
So it seems to me the first step was to be made hand in hand, but Abbas never did anything to stop terror.
To this day rockets are still flying over the boarder into Israeli towns, and the controllers of Gaza have said for all to hear that they will NEVER agree to peace with ISRAEL.
maybe if Abbas would order his troops to stop his citizens from attempting attacks on ISraelis, maybe israel would be more inclined to stop the construction.
incase you are wundering where i stand i think in the end all the settelments need to be removed but only in the final stages of the peace process and not before.
But no one likes to talk about that part |
