You hint that Obama`s pressing Natanyahu would lead to a massive defection of US Jewish voters to the republicans, and would cause great harm to the democrats. Is it so? I doubt it.
You are talking about a (possible) reaction by some members of the organized community and of the influential minority whose heart MOSTLY beats with supporting Israel (in committees, lobbies, etc). You have no proof that most of the Jewish voters make of Israel such a strong issue that would overrule their support for Obama on the basis of his liberal domestic policies.
Lobbies like AIPAC and the Cuban-American foundation are influential but can also loose important political battles. Remember that Bush Sr in the 90`s did not bow to AIPAC when putting pressure on Itzhak Shamir. Nothing happened in the US and US Jewish voters did not revolt, but Israel`s politics suffered a major earthquake: Shamir lost to Rabin in 1992.
