if obama counts on the netanyahu government falling, he will have to wait for quite some time. nor would livni be able to form a government. kadima and labour do not have sufficient votes. furthermore, barak joined the present government to be on hand for the iran issue. this government has a very strong national security branch. the question is not what will obama do, but rather what will netanyahu and his security people decide to do. personally, i do not believe that an attack on iran would have catstrophic results in areas like pakistan, iraq or afghanistan, or even the gulf states. remember saddam`s invasion of kuwait. iran is not a great power. the greatest danger would be the repurcussions on israel. it is israel that is tiny and surrounded by tens of thousands of missiles. i trust that barak and the others would know what they are doing. regards, cipora |
