| All, I think that Gen. Jones was hoping Netanyahu`s coalition would collapse during the budget negotiation. Now that it didn`t, Netanyahu has to be dealt with. Will Obama and Jones hit Netanyahu hard in hopes of breaking Labor out of the coalition and put in an malleable coalition under Kadima and Labor. If they miscalculate and appear to be dumping Israel and favoring enemies (Iran, Syria, Hugo Chavez` Venezuela, etc), they could make a game changing mistake. The Republicans appear to be against the ropes. They have been forsaken by the corporations and their base is narrow. They would love to slice the Jewish community from the Democratic coalition. This is a potential 3 million votes, votes that could change the game in Ohio and Florida - two key states. In addition, the Jewish community contributes to political causes and could bring enough to the Republican side to make up for the defection of corporate support. Americans don`t like One Party Government. |
