| I hope there is no reader of Haaretz who actually believes that Iran will launch a military strike against Israel. Simply put: - Iran does not have the reach nor the hardware. - Iran does not share a border with Israel, however, Hezbollah does!! - Hamas is Sunni and not a fan of Tehran - Scud B/Cs are inaccurate and can not be used in surgical strikes. - Israel`s retaliatory capabilities are tremendous. Iran knows that!! - A nuclear Iran will only invite a nuclear response from Israel if it attempts a first strike. Iran will not give up Tehran for the Palestinians. So, I am puzzled how Iran is the main issue of concern for Mr. Netanyahu? The issue that continues to taunt Israel and its security is the Palestinian quagmire. Bibi can go into the history books if it shows enough bravery to solve this problem. Bibi should make Iran politically insignificant by taking the lead in solving the Palestinian issue. He can learn from M. Begin -- a real hero. Shalom |
