Many Israelis still refuse to admit that the State of Israel is foundend on the dispossession of the indigenous Palestinian Arabs. In the months before May 1948 Jewish forces were attacking Palestinian villages and expelling and killing their inhabitants. By May 1948 already 300.000 Palestinians were being expelled and it was in response to this that Arab armies counterattacked to save at least that part of Palestine allocated to the Palestinian state by the UN Partition Plan of November 1947. The Arab states were divided and Israel managed by 1949 to expel more than 700.000 Palestinians from their homeland. This is the Palestinian Nakba, that so many Israelis simply deny. And you are surprised that 40% of Israel`s Palestinians are not inclined to acknowledge the Holocaust or recognize the State of Israel as a Jewish state??!
You are asking them to recognize a state that treats them like second class citizens, or more correctly, like citizens of the apartheid state of Israel.
