| The existing road map seems to be a pretty good blueprint from which to construct a peace, if only the parties, notably Israel, would follow it. But so far, before even beginning to move with the road map, Israel has insisted that Abbas take the first step and completely end all violent acts against Israel--not exacty an easy thing to do, although Abbas has tried. Israel, naturally, has not tried at all. Indeed, it has instead, increased settlement activity and, if this article is correct, will continue to do so. He also adds another pre-condition, that the palestinians recognize Israel as a Jewish state. Ergo: no chance for peace. |
