I saw the play a few weeks ago in st. louis. The problem isn`t antisemitism. It is NOT antisemitic. Rather, the play is poorly written and historically inacurate. As Berg and many others have argued, there is certainly a (rhetorical) connection between Israeli violence and Holocaust trauma. However, the play ignores the pre-war history of Jewish-Arab violence and any contemporary political context. It is also so orthodoxly freudian as to make it kitch. The British Jewish community played its cards wrong by reacting to worthless crap and turning it into an international phenomenon... Oh, and full disclosure... I`m on the way left. There are much better ways to support Palestinian rights!
