The whole structure is rotten with corruption, inefficiencies and an inability to reform itself through the electoral process. The unelected mullahs control and can veto who stands for elections and who sits on the courts. The Islamic Republic will suffocate itself to death just as the USSR did, and for the same reason. It doesn`t work.
