| I disagree with Levy`s characterization. First of all, Haredim are not a separate race. What they are is a threat. Their beliefs and lifestyle constitute an implicit rejection of the liberal, Zionist values upon which the country was founded. Their decisions to live in secular neighborhoods are part of a deliberate attempt at colonization, to establish a presence and influence there. Similar to the settlers in the west bank. Do you see secular people moving into haredi neighborhoods? |
