| I work in an elementary school in Tel Aviv, where the government has implemented a special program for Muslim children that came from Darfur. There is an Arab Muslim teacher who teaches Hebrew to the little Darfurians. She comes to school covered with her hijab and shares with her Jewish coworkers every single morning of her life. The other teachers treat her as one more in the staff. Up to now I haven`t notice ANY discrimination at all. And according to what she has told me about her life, she studied in the same schools Jews study when she was a little girl, a teenager and when she became a teacher. She`s also said she prefers to teach in a school located in a Jewish town. And it is possible. She`s doing it. As for the Muslim kids, you should see how well they`ve been received by the Jewish kids. Israel may be all the horrible things you choose to see and present, but it is certainly not only that. There`s more to it. |
