When Iran detains a journalist, we all protest against this cruel, dictatorial harrasment. When Russia or China or Saudi Arabia does it, we know: democracy is far away.
When Israel harrasses an international award winning journalist, Israelis think that it is necessary and just.... Israelis have a long way to go before there is s democratic state of mind in their common character.
Thank god there is still a (sadly shrinking) minority that tries to stop the racist policies of their state and the racist attitudes of the many state representatives. Hass, Haaretz, Shalom Achshav, Rabbis for human rights and more individuals and organisations that fight the selfdestructive mechanisms of occupation and religious apartheid policies. |
