| The reason Holocaust denial is abhorrent is because it is one of the most well documented historical facts. If you are a Jew, then more than likely you have family that died in the Holocaust, and more than likely all your Jewish friends have family that died in the Holocaust. RESEARCHING the Holocaust is not illegal - in fact there are many people who study it in universities and earn doctorates in the subject. To DENY the Holocaust is simply to advance an anti-Semitic agenda. Denying the Holocaust is implying that Jews have concocted the world`s best conspiracy to gain sympathy, and by extension, deligitimizes the Jews` right to national self-determination. These type of conspiracy theories are what led to the Holocaust in the first place, as well as persecution of Jews throughout recorded history. |
