The holocaust should be laid to rest and allowed to remain in the pages of Jewish and world history. Continued rememberance and insistence on not forgiving will have an adverse affect on the psyche which will take generations to heal. For it is a wound that remains open. Time to forgive and let the healing start. Of course there will be those who read these words and will only cast scorn on the writer. But to them I say not forgiving leads to a downward slide and increased suffering for the individual and the nation as a whole. Do not forget but do not insist on remembering either. |
