| Why should the Pope apologize? He was born in 1927. When the war started he was about to become 10 yrs old. When the war ended he was about 19 yrs old. OK, he was in the Nazi Scouts, later on, was compulsory drafted to the army, which he deserted at 17 yrs old. All Germans that deserted the army and were caught, were put in concentration camps. There was no freedom at the time to choose anything else - only by risking one`s life as well as the life of one`s family because Germans lived under a dictatorship. And last but not least the Pope was a teenager by the time the war finished...Maybe it would be a good ideia to put things in perspective and not always use the accusation of anti-semetism. |
