| All, Hass reflects the weaknesses of the `peace` as envisioned by Israeli liberals as well as the US, EU, UN, etc. The offered peace is about what the world can offer the `poor` Palestinians and what Israel will have to `sacrifice for `peace`. There is nothing in the peace that offers Israel anything in return for strategic depth, a possible civil war (removing 80,000 to 300,000 `settlers) and a universal perception of Israeli weakness. The current peace plans offer: 1. An Israeli apology for its creation and existence. 2. Crippling reparations for Palestinian refugees and no compensation of Jewish refugees from the original 1948 conflict. 3. A lame `normalization` with the Arab world consisting of a temporary exchange of Ambassadors (until they are withdrawn) and a scrap of paper. 4. A vast reduction in Israeli security since no one is willing to recognize terror against Israelis as illigitimate. International troops will leave & Israel can`t react. |
