All,
Has anybody tried `change` that is new in the Arab-Israeli equation.
No-one has tried to actually offer Israel anything that will benefit it.
1. The envisioned peace doesn`t offer Israel legitimacy since most plans (Saudi Initiative) include an apology for its creation and existence.
2. The envisioned peace doesn`t offer Israel `normalization` since the Arabs will withdraw their ambassadors the minute things go sour.
3. The envisioned peace doesn`t offer security since (at the first sign of trouble) any international forces guaranteeing Israel`s borders will run (as the UN separation force did in Sinai in 1967) and Israel`s withdrawals will be interpreted as weakness and no one cares about terror against Israelis.
4. The envisioned peace doesn`t offer an end to `all claims` as required by UN SCR 242 and 338 since Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran won`t recognize Israel`s right to exist or Pal claims on pre-1967 Israel under any circumstances whatsoever. |
