| This article mentions US stiffening `stances` after a failed first round. Are they gonna give Iran as many rounds as it wishes? Stiffening and sanctioning policies hurt but are ineffective---esp. given the short timeline within which Iran can build a nuclear weapon. What we need are some stiff actions, not stiff sanctions. If Iran does not tone down its threats and change its nuclear ambitions, I suspect that Israel may have to take matters into its own hands if it cannot rely on the Obama admin. to act swiftly and responsibly. Israel is fully capable of handling an enemy such as Iran on its own. Forty-two years ago Israel managed to defeat Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Iraq in six days (using conventional weapons). Today, Israel is even more formidable, and Iran knows that. |
