All,
Clinton and Obama are playing an interesting game. Are they negotiating with Livni while cutting off the official government of Israel?
Will Netanyahu make it past the first budget? If Shas or Labor withdraws, this government will fall. Will Bar-on`s attacks on Peres prevent the President from giving Kadima a chance to form a government?
Or is the Obama administration`s Israel policy run by James Jones or Hillary?
Are they looking for a Kadima government to go along with Obama`s two-state vision? Or are they forming an `offer that can`t be refused` with Europe, the UN, Russia and the Arab League. In short, an imposed `solution` that would put Israel`s existence at risk.
I don`t know. I believe that a serious mis-step on Israel could divide the Democratic Party at a time when significant domestic issues are before the Congress in the US: healthcare, financial reform, etc. If Obama is dumping the Jewish vote, he should check with Axelrod (his political master) first. |
