However, I am afraid that Liberman is the type of controversial figure that does not fit this moment.
What it takes nowadays is to consolidate a broad coalition with the Gulf countries Jordan and Egypt. To do so, Israel must make some "minor" concessions, just to show that it is moving in the right direction.
Then Obama by himself will understand that his natural allies are not Iran and the axis of evil. I am enouraged by Noam Chomsky. He says that Obama will basically not differ from Bush second term. I agree. Obama is oportunistic and will understand faster than anyone else that it is better to run away of any dirty business with Iran. |
