| There are. I am a Palestinian from Shatila and I recognize the Holocaust. Regardless of whether or not I feel we had anything to do with it, it was the epitome of evil. I was fortunate enough to grow up in the United States but in America, I was mistaken for a Jew - harassed by neo-Nazi`s and I will never forget sitting in my 7th grade social studies class, learning about the Holocaust and having my teacher tell me in front of that I would not have survived - I felt real sympathy for Jewish people after that. I think we Palestinians and Jews always wonder why the other side doesn`t understand our pain. We know each other all to well cousins - two sides of the same coin - blessed and cursed throughout history. Neither of us are the monsters our politicians make us out to be, and we have to at least acknowledge that. |
