| Aziz Abu Sarah`s article is a glimmer of hope...as one reaches out to understand the psyche and pain of the Jewish people. of course, we also need to do so in reverse more often. However, although I understand that Arabs would have no interest in teaching the Shoah to its people, and hence their negligent ignorance about Jews, the most pivotal Arab leader during World War 2 was the Grand Mufti Haj Amin al-Husseini, who was not only a personal friend of Hitler, but remainined in Berlin during the war years to help plan the Final Solution. This same Mufti is the person who instigated pogroms against Jews living in Palestine, including the 1929 murder or expuslion of all Jews from Hebron, making it Judenrein until 1967 after 4000 years of continuous presence. Arafat considered the Mufti his great mentor and assumed the mantle and Nazi anti-Jewish propaganda learned in Belrin to vilify Jews and spread that racist hatred of Jews throughout the Arab world.
