| Israel`s stockpile is reliably estimated at around 800 thermonuclear weapons (about twice the stockpile of Great Britain). Why do they need more? Here`s a plan for Mr. Peres. Israel unilaterally and unconditionally announces: 1. it is joining NPT as a declared weapons state; 2. it will cease plutonium (and tritium) production at Dimnona for one year as a gesture of good will toward Iran, with the threat that it will resume production if Iran does not stop its plutonium reactor construction at Arak. Iran can enrich for power plants provided it adheres to the NPT. If Israel really wants to avoind the coming conflagration, it should take the path of peace. |
