| I was incredibly despondent about Netanyahu`s and Lieberman`s rise to power. And I`m still incredibly skeptical of their intentions. However I`m starting to feel a little hopeful that something huge might happen in the form of Israel being pressed hard enough to make some actual concessions for once. The Israeli leadership is realizing that the Palestinians aren`t their worst anymore; Iran is. I personally like the idea of the US using assistance to Israel and the concerned Arab states to confront Iran as a means to pressure Israel vis a vis the Palestinians. But with the fear of Iran growing, such pressure might not even be needed. Again, that`s just kind of a random thought. |
