| Israel is essentially a secular democracy not a theocratic state. Also Moonen the Jews are a very diverse people who have a common history and a very ancient civilization. Under this big tent are Jews for whom the Jewish religion is at the center of their Jewish identity and those for whom it is not. Hamas is a political organization that had roots in the Muslim Brotherhood. For it religion, politics, and the State are all the same thing to a rather extreme degree to which relatively few Jews would relate. |
