Actually, Lou Mendal, Judaism, and what was to become Christianity, split when Constantine decided that Jesus was God, not after `the` crucifixion. The Romans, by the way, crucified thousands of Jewish men, women and children, not just one, without benefit of trial.
I`m all for extending the hand of friendship, to bring peace into the world, but we shouldn`t forget that in the mind of the Catholic Church, Christianity can only be right if Jews are wrong. And its even better if they can somehow blame Jesus` death on us. There`s no room for other roads to God - only the road through Rome. So, as we extend the hand of friendship, let`s not forget that the pope wants us all down on our knees with a rosary, or we`re bound for `Hell.` |
