Think it through and use the Bush parameters for a Palestinian State - Coherent and Contiguous. Bush used the word `viable` too. Those are all the same criteria the current administration will use.
Contiguous is the only term that could be applied to either Southern Lebanon or Gaza. I`m just guessing. But I think that coherent and viable are more than just words to Obama and his people. Unlike the Bush people, Obama`s people seem to think governments should have some competence and function for more than just those in power.
That does imply a Palestinian state that can trade and communicate with the outside world on its own, without oversight or help (unless it wants help). It implies sovereignty, not locked borders with only the freedom of the jail-yard. It also implies control of their own natural resources.
Unilateralism has no record or any of this. |
