Barak Ravid, Haaretz Correspondent, and The Associated Press: Netanyahu candidate Michael Oren tapped as U.S. envoy
Talkback
Title:Dr. Oren, a Likud ideologue, is no peace maker. Go with Tom Segev
Name:Wedi Asmara...
City: State: USA
If authorship is a guiding light for making peace, then Tom Segev is the better prepared candidate to do that Job.

I have read the books of both Gentlemen regarding the 6 days war and although Dr. Oren covers the Arab side and Tom Segev source is exclusively Israeli, Segev by far presents the event accurately than Dr. Oren.

Dr. Oren simplistic pronouncement particularly on how the 67 war was ignited and who was responsible is rather astonishing and only fit to go along with the Likud mantra. Let there be no mistake. His current declaration of "unilaterally withdrawal from the West Bank" is no more than the old shibboleth of Likud policy intensely recoined to hoodwink American audience.

Thus it is highly unlikely Oren will work for the 2 state solution. And so, for the sake of the 70% Israelis who want peace, Tom Segev or better yet, Uri Avnery, are better fit representing the Israel that has been yearning for peace for decades...

Shalom to every one.....
