| I think the prosecutors probably made the correct decision. Since the judge ruled that the prosecution would have prove that the defendants knew they were harming the US, a very high standard of proof, there was little chance of getting a conviction here. If truth be told, it is doubtful that the defendants did believe they were harming the US. There motive was clearly to help Israel, which, while a less disagreeable motive, still suggests that their true allegiance was not with their own country. They certainly should be kept on a list of the Not To Be Trusted. |
