What`s clear is that the charges were a house of cards to begin with and the passing of classified information is something that`s done by Washington indiders to others, including people like journalists. Indeed, the flimsiness of the charges stems from the fact that the DOJ needed to dig up a WW-I era law from the compost pile to prosecute.
The prosecutors didn`t want to put senior officials on the stand who would be forced to say that information like this makes its way around. Just as the CQ piece on rep-Harmon did. I can`t imagine how a secret wire-tap on a Congresswoman isn`t considered classified. |
