I can understand why left-leaning Israelis are angry and fearful of the seemingly ever-increasing fundamentalist religious overtones of Israeli society (looking at how the last Jewish state was busy killing each other while the Romans were breaching the walls of Jm is a good example of why). But, is staging this play in Belgium going to solve anything in Israel, or is it just a futile expression of angst that will only serve to embolden the extremist anti-Israelis and Jew-haters in a country that already seems to have a bit of a problem with fundamentalist Muslims and even neo-nazis? |
