| The concept of a nation`s democracy is an idealism (mind you, based on different interpretations) where a democratically elected government strives to ensure and enhance for its citizenry, on a daily basis, a dignified standard of living. According to its principles, it makes the efforts to improve equitable access to housing, access to education and employment opportunities, access to good health-care and the judicial system, etc. In Canada, this is the case. In Israel, the Declaration of Independence categorically implies the same for ALL citizenry. Whether all institutions and individuals comply is a different matter, but the judicial system decides. I know that there are too numerous examples which deviate from these principles, but being in the midst of this unsettled conflict for over 60 years, not all inhabitants of the region received equitable access.
