...also understand that we, Jews worldwide and Israeli Jews in particular, are not in a position to take any additional risks beyond the ones Israel has already taken as long as our neighbors can bring themselves to recognize Israel`s right to exist - yes, they have finally come around to recognize the fact that it does - and to accept, internalize and share with others, preferably in Arabic, Hebrew and English, that Israel is the nation-state of a people, of the Jewish people, set up on part of our nearly 4,000 year old people`s ancestral homeland. In other words, nearly 62 years since the UN called to set up a Jewish state, our neighbors continue to refuse its right.
If they don`t come around to recognize Israel as the nation-state of the Jewish people by right, and after so many attempts on their part to wipe Israel off the face of earth it would be impossible for us, Jews, to take any additional risks since we have no reason to believe they would not attempt to do so in the future |
